Sourced from key regions across South Australia, including McLaren Vale, Barossa Valley, Padthaway and Wrattonbully, it reflects the classic Penfolds house style: layered fruit, savoury depth and polished oak integration.

The 2022 vintage was matured for 12 months in American oak hogsheads (around 10% new), allowing the dark, plush fruit to take centre stage. Expect rich black plum, blackberry and liquorice, framed by chocolate, spice and a faintly gamey edge. Firm but ripe tannins and a lively acid line provide both early approachability and a long cellaring horizon.
