The Whittet-Higgins NS series is a stainless steel bearing locknut engineered to secure, lock, and retain bearings and power transmission components on threaded shafts. It is matched with WS series lockwashers, whose locating tab seats into a keyway and engages an external slot in the nut to provide positive locking and accurate angular positioning across numerous locking positions.
Built from corrosion resistant stainless steel for wet, washdown, and chemically aggressive service, the NS locknut prevents assembly loosening caused by vibration, shock, and torque, and works effectively on both soft and hardened shafts. It installs without special tools and meets and exceeds the requirements of the ANSI/ABMA 8.2-1999 specification.
