A "not so" plain Jane 808 that brings all the Maton magic into an affordable (non signature model) stunner! The EBG808 has a soundboard of "AA" grade solid Sitka spruce, solid Blackwood back and sides, and a neck of select Queensland Maple. The bridge is Ebony, as is the fingerboard. The EBG808 model is easily recognized by its Blackwood Veneer keyhole headstock and its satin finish.

The dynamic range of this guitar is huge! Being able to deliver soft emotive tone at lower volume and powerful driving spark at a higher level. The scalloped bracing of the 808 provides a superior bass response and a rich midrange. Improved neck/body geometry produces a neck that is a joy to play.

Difficult chord shapes and complex single note runs are much easier to execute and increased tonal response improves acoustic projection. A bone nut and saddle ensure maximum tone and sustain.

The AP5-Pro pickup system now features a separate microphone and piezo input controls allow for blending of both microphone and piezo levels prior to sending the actively combined signals through to the tone circuits and master volume. The highly selective cardioid microphone system allows for much greater microphone level before feedback in live environments. This newly upgraded microphone is direct mounted to the preamp casing via an adjustable arm, which permits easy final tweaking of microphone position to suit the individual artists style.

All controls are now at your fingertips, and their 'resistance curves' have been specially designed and manufactured expressly for the AP5-Pro. As a result, the Bass, Treble and MID are now much more 'linear' in feel. The FQ (Mid Sweep) now goes down much lower and has a much wider frequency band (600Hz to 2.4kHz) to give greater control when targeting your specific sound.

Good finish, poor hardware.
Set screws are poor quality and are sometimes powdercoated on the exposed threads. Leads to striped hex sockets and inability to tighten properly. Durable finish as evidenced by no visible damage after throwing parts across the shop in frustration. Ended up running self tapping screws thru parts to complete assembly.
