3387134 Cycling Thermostat & 3392519 Dryer Thermal Fuse & 3977393 Thermal Cut-off Switch & 3977767 High-limit Thermostat Kit
Key Features
- Comprehensive Thermal Protection: This master kit provides a complete set of safety and regulation sensors designed to monitor internal temperatures, manage heating cycles, and provide multi-stage emergency shut-off protection.
- Precision Cycling Regulation: The 3387134 cycling thermostat acts as the primary control, accurately cycling the heating element on and off to maintain the target temperature selected on your console for optimal drying and fabric care.
- Dual-Stage Emergency Cut-Off: Includes both the 3392519 (blower-side) and 3977393 (heater-side) thermal fuses, offering non-resettable "one-time" protection that immediately kills power to prevent fires in the event of severe airflow restriction.
- High-Limit Safety Backup: The 3977767 high-limit thermostat serves as a secondary regulator on the heater housing, designed to trip if temperatures exceed the cycling thermostat's range but haven't yet reached the catastrophic levels that blow the thermal fuses.

Compatibility & Fitment
This universal sensor kit is the standard maintenance set for virtually all Whirlpool-manufactured dryers (Electric and Gas) produced since the 1990s. Key compatible brands include:
- Whirlpool & Maytag: Fits hundreds of LER, LGR, MED, and MGD series models (e.g., LER4634EQ2, MEDC215EW1, LER4634PQ0).
- Kenmore (110 Series): Compatible with nearly all 110-prefix "Ultra Fabric Care" and standard dryers (e.g., 110.60852990, 110.70802990).
- KitchenAid & Amana: Fits various KEDS and NED series units utilizing the top-lint-filter design.
- Roper, Estate, & Crosley: Direct fit for dozens of budget-friendly models utilizing this standardized four-part sensor configuration.
When to Replace
- No Heat at All: The most common symptom—the dryer drum turns and air blows, but it never gets warm. This indicates a blown thermal fuse or high-limit thermostat on the heater box.
- Dryer Won't Start: On most electric models, a blown 3392519 blower fuse will break the circuit to the motor, preventing the unit from starting entirely.
- Overheating Clothes: If the 3387134 cycling thermostat fails in a "closed" position, the heater may stay on constantly, making the cabinet hot to the touch and risking fabric damage.
- Dryer Shuts Off Mid-Cycle: The unit stops unexpectedly after a few minutes as the safety sensors detect a rapid, unsafe rise in temperature due to back-pressure.
- Intermittent Heating: The dryer provides heat occasionally or takes multiple cycles to dry a single load, suggesting one of the regulators is out of calibration.
Installation Tips
- Safety First: You MUST unplug the dryer. Working on the heater box involves 240V circuits which are extremely dangerous if the unit is powered.
- Clean the Venting: **CRITICAL:** Sensors and fuses fail because of clogged dryer vents. Before installing this new kit, use a vacuum to clean the internal blower housing and the entire exhaust duct to the outside wall.
- Location Guide: The 3392519 is located on the blower housing (rear or front-bottom depending on model). The 3977393 and 3977767 are mounted directly to the side of the metal heating element box.
- Terminal Check: Ensure all wire connectors are tight when pushed onto the new terminals. Loose connections create "arcing" and localized heat, which can melt your new parts or wires.
- Photo Reference: Take a photo of the wiring on the cycling thermostat (3387134) before removing it. It often has four terminals, and the internal heater vs. external heater wires must be in the correct positions.
