Showcased at PRS’s first Winter NAMM appearance, it introduced a forward-thinking design that prioritized both tone and technical precision. Since then, it’s been in the hands of session players, touring professionals, and anyone needing a high-performance electric with consistent reliability. This Floyd-equipped variant integrates that original DNA with modern functionality tailored for expressive playing.

Its construction remains rooted in tradition: a carved “10-Top” figured maple cap rests on a mahogany body, giving the guitar visual depth and structural balance. The set neck—also mahogany—is cut to PRS’s Pattern Thin profile, lending itself to quick movements and reduced hand fatigue across the full 25" scale length. The rosewood fingerboard has a 10" radius and is fitted with 24 frets, decorated with the iconic PRS bird inlays.

Electronics include a pair of DMO humbuckers—Dynamic, Musical, Open—designed in-house by Paul Reed Smith and his engineering team. These pickups are voiced to provide clarity and dimension, with balanced output that complements both clean articulation and overdriven bite. A 5-way blade switch and push/pull coil-tap expand the tonal options, making this guitar adaptable across setups.

Finished in Fire Smokeburst and paired with a hardshell case, this Custom 24 Floyd edition trades excess for intent. It’s a player's instrument built to navigate the demands of modern technique while staying rooted in the PRS tradition of clarity, stability, and craft.
