I built this pack with the martial classes in mind; a ranger who knows the terrain, a fighter who knows how to use a shield, and a barbarian who doesn't care about either of those things. Use these guys to fill out the front line and make your players feel a bit safer.

Build your own story for these guys. They don't necessarily have to be mercenaries. Maybe the party finds them at a campsite or strikes up a conversation at the local tavern and help them with a side quest. Afterwards, they decide to travel with the party for a while. How they join the party is your story to tell.
