Paul de Jong is best known as the cofounder, cellist and resident found sound savant of the beloved, defunct collage-pop duo, the Books. Five years after that band delivered their final album, The Way Out, to much acclaim, de Jong delivers his first solo album, IF. IF sets the Books' early albums (particularly The Lemon of Pink) as a starting point, and elevates that beguiling sense of wonder and amazement to genuinely transcendent new heights. DeJong's ability to find the musical in the mundane has always been uncanny it is part of what made the Books so magical and that gift is what makes IF such a marvelous curiosity, and such a true pleasure to hear. In de Jong's world, everything around him is a potential instrument: his mind-bogglingly vast collection of forgotten private press regional folk records, spoken-word oddities of indeterminate origin unearthed in discarded thrift store piles, and various every day household utensils that we tend to take for granted. One man's trash is de Jong's tool to craft yet another treasure. Beautiful, functional, easy on hands, push button

Update: these are great! I only charged them the day they arrived 3 months ago from Amazon, and have not had to charge them yet. They work efficiently every time my whole family loves using them,,especially the grandkids.
I specifically wanted "push button" , and easy-rechargeable. I have arthritis so it's pretty amazing and wonderful.
These rechargeable grinders are lightweight when they arrive, and easy to fill from the top.
For each grinder, you will need to turn the top opening slightly to the left to release it, and then pull it open.
My 9yo grandson had to show me.
The salt and pepper grindersmake a relatively, low grinding sound, and have a small, shining,light at the bottom where the salt and pepper come out onto the food. The performance is good, the salt and pepper output seems not too much and not too little.
Charging these grinders was extremely easy, and the little charging unit stand is provided with a C charger which you can connect into the back of the charging unit, and a USB connection on the other end for the wall .

Best grinders I have ever used

I bought these 6 months ago and they are great. They have stopped charging several times. The problem is the salt gets on the contacts and oxidized the contacts and the unit stops charging. You take sand paper and clean the contacts and they work fine again. I feel if the material on the charging port is made with stainless steel and the contacts on the grinders themselves are larger, I would have given this a 5 star. Even
As it stands, I would purchase these again. I have several bad experiences buying manual grinders that last about a month and break. These are High Quality, but need to upgrade the contacts.

Salt n peppa

Not sure why I waited so long to purchase these! They are great, nice sleek design and they make cooking so much easier! They work so well and I literally just hold it over whatever I’m cooking, press a button and fresh pepper and salt are grinding right before my eyes! In the past my shakers have left salt or pepper on the counter but so far these have not, which is a bonus for sure!

These are very easy to use with one-hand operation. The adjustable grind settings work well, and the light feature is actually helpful when cooking.
The stainless steel design looks modern on the counter. Grinding power is consistent and strong enough for everyday kitchen use.
