Feathe, the new album from Seth Avett, showcases his ongoing autobiographical narrative, experience-based philosophy, and (occasionally radical) musical evolution. Written entirely by Avett and co-produced with Dana Nielsen (SZA, Adele, Weezer, Rhianna), Feathe blends organic instrumentation with experimental elements, fusing guitar, bass, drums, piano, and synths (all performed by Avett & Nielsen). Thematically, the record delves into the deeply personal landscape listeners have come to expect from this artist, with early fatherhood and growing spirituality at the fore. A palette of plainspoken positivity and sustaining hope color an already colorful canvas…one that is at times texturally unexpected. All vocals are by Avett, with additional contributions from songwriter Jessica Lea Mayfield and Charissa Nielsen (Post Malone, The Smashing Pumpkins, Neil Young), giving the album an unmistakably singular focus.
